PULSE™ (Personnel Ultrasonic Locating Safety Equipment) is the technology behind the Pathfinder™ system, the world's first and most revolutionary Firefighter tracking system.
By utilizing ultrasound, the system is able to determine the quickest path to a firefighter in trouble. The Pathfinder system will help you to maneuver around walls and locate doorways. It is a high-tech, electronic rope that will help you find missing firefighters efficiently and effectively.
This unique system provides a means for fire department Rapid Intervention Teams (RIT) to significantly decrease the time it takes to find a downed firefighter in a smoke-filled environment. Field trials have shown Pathfinder™ to reduce search time by as much as 50-80%. Said another way: searches are reduced by a factor of 2 to 5 times. That precious time dramatically increases the chances of making a successful rescue.
And now Pathfinder has become even better. The technology has been seamlessly integrated into Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBAs) and Thermal Imaging Cameras (TICs).
